I have been following the threads regarding this change and as I am still a member of the Dzine (until Nov) received the email. I too am 2 Dzines short and as my membership has only 2 months left to go will they extend it by two weeks? I personally liked receiving the magazines and they were, in part, the reason I joined initially instead of just following online. So I am disapointed they have been discontinued. As for the new site - I find it irritating and will not be altering my screen to fit it in properly. I decided weeks ago not to renew and this has more than justified my decision. As for the 'gushing' over how much TJT have done for the 'fans' - were they not only doing what we - the membership paid for - I saw no evidence of extraordinary sacrifices or extra work done by the management. In fact I could complain about the poor service re lack of Dzine magazines and poor quality of the plastic keyring I bought.! An apologetic thread on the board doesn't really cut it when hard cash is paid for a service. I do not blame them for passing it onto professionals and wonder if they underestimated the workload in running a fan club.
This is my opinion anyway.

I've been reading alot of the stuff and digesting everything in this post and there are alot of good points made here. I will stay at the FC forum mainly cause its the main place I like to be, and most of my friends are there. I am not too pleased about some of the changes but I'll deal with them and move on with my life and continue to support Darren's music and discuss it too.

But the website overall, I am not a fan of the layout, the music drives me insane (I love Darren's music but no need for it to be background stuff - that eats up bandwidth!!!!)... The site layout isnt accessible to all browsers, takes a while to load on some computers, some people who cannot afford newer compuers cannot get all of the stuff to work on the site cause their computers cannot handle flash, java, and/or javascripts. I don't like that the forum isnt full out like it used to be - I preferred the way it was before the redesign. Now I am sounding like a computer geek girl that I am [img]redface.gif[/img] [img]tongue.gif[/img] . I am taking a class in website management as part of my course work to be certified in web page design, and I can say my professor's 5 points of good design don't fit the new FC/Official site as well as another site by a person I shall not name here [img]wink.gif[/img] :

I was initially pissed off and angry... I mean what are we paying for??? Anyone can copy the online magazine and send it all over ...... were paying to post on the forum and the odd competition! ... However, now I have had time to think and I do feel the same .... I liked the magazine I will probably stay ( but not 100%) As someone else said to me you are paying for a magazine ... now we arent even getting that!!!!!
The forum is driving me mad I have been staying away SOME of the people on there are condescending bitches and I cant stand them - it spoils it . Darren is the only reason I will stay I love his music I love the album and he is a great person in every way that I know ... the rest of it f***s me right off..... and i never thought I would say that

IMO, it would have made more sense for the fanclub to have got the online mag ready for when they made the announcement that there were to be no more printed D-zines, as a possible way of placating the masses so to speak..... it might have made tings slightly more favourable that we could at least see SOMETHING, especially when they vast majority think that they are now getting sod all for their membership fee. But it's been god knows how long now since the annoucement and still no whisper of the online mag, which 9for me anyway) means the longer I wait the more ragged up I get about it.
As for this stuff about extending people's memberships to compensate, members have been posting that their membership is up for renewal when it should have originally been without the extension being added on so I wonder just WTF is happening. Have they not got round to updating our memberships and adding the extra time? And if not why not... if they promise such a service they should provide it( but we all know that DOESN'T happen anymore). It's all very well or me to wait as my membership doesn't expire untill next June so if and when they ever get round to providing the extensions, I have time to wait, but those who's membership is about to or has run out, don't.
Yet again it's turning into a bloody farce.
As for the TCFC DVD, well if that ever see's the light of day I'll be very surprised. I've well and truly given up it ever being released, but there are posts on FC, still to this day asking about when it's going to be released. First it was someitme last year, then there was mentions of it being released with the album... still nothing.
Oh and while I'm having a good moan, WTF is going on with the soundcheck passes?? There was talk of having to register electronically, and then nothing.. it's only a month or so untill the tour kicks off so WTF is happening with them. I'm pissed off enough that I now get no D-Zine , if it turns out I no longer get a soundcheck pass either and they change their minds on that one too, I think I'll explode!!! And what about those who still have a membership but no online acess, WTF are they supposed to do about the S/C passes.
